Daniel Smith

Biography
Daniel Smith is an Environmental Scientist at Intrinsik Corp., a boutique consulting firm providing expert toxicology and regulatory advice for the protection of human health and the environment. Mr. Smith holds a B.Sc. with a major in Biology and a specialization in Zoology, and a Master of Environmental Science (M.Env.Sc.) from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.
Working out of Intrinsik’s Calgary, Alberta, Canada office, Mr. Smith has over 10 years of experience assessing human health and ecological risks associated with a wide array of contaminants of potential concern under various jurisdictions across Canada. This work has involved assessment of contaminated sites as well as prospective projects such as industrial applications and approvals, and upset conditions including spills. Mr. Smith’s experience extends to all aspects of Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments (HHERAs) (i.e., problem formulation, toxicity assessment, exposure assessment and risk characterization) with a focus on environmental fate and transport, and multiple pathway exposure modelling.
