Juan Velasco is a physical scientist at the NOAA Satellite Analysis Branch in College Park, MD. As the lead for the Marine Pollution Surveillance Program at SAB, he is responsible for managing the 24x7-supported, satellite-based detection and reporting of unnatural oil discharges in U.S. waters. Mr. Velasco is also SAB’s Ocean Remote Sensing Operations Officer, responsible for enhancing ocean-related remote sensing capabilities and products.
