Biography
Lieutenant Commander Christopher “Kit” Pace is Chief of the USCG's Great Lakes Oil Spill Center of Expertise (GLCOE). The newly established GLCOE is focused on operationalizing innovative ideas that improve freshwater and icy water oil spill responses. LCDR Kit Pace most recently served as USCG Marine Safety Unit Savannah’s Chief of Response, where he Directed all Ports, Waterways & Coastal Security response missions for two economic and military strategic ports. The capsizing of the GOLDEN RAY, the largest maritime salvage incident in U.S. history, was a notable response overseen by LCDR Pace while in Savannah.
LCDR Pace holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, a Master of Science in Environmental Policy, and a Master of Arts in Global Affairs.
