Tom Coolbaugh

Biography
Dr. Thomas Coolbaugh works for Applied Research Associates. He retired from ExxonMobil after more than 32 years where he was the Technology and Advocacy Advisor for the Emergency Preparedness and Response organization. At Ohmsett he continues to focus on the science of oil spill response. He was a member of National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine committees for “Responding to Oil Spills in the U.S. Arctic Marine Environment” and “The Evaluation of the Use of Chemical Dispersants in Oil Spill Response.” Tom received his B.A. in chemistry from Amherst College, a Ph.D. in chemistry from Caltech, and an M.S. in the Management of Technology from NYU.
