Aurelien Hospital
Biography
Aurelien Hospital is a Senior Oceanographer and the manager of the Coastal Engineering Group with Tetra Tech, with offices in Canada and the United States. His background is in physical oceanography, marine engineering and hydraulics, with a Master of Science focused on Physical Oceanography and Coastal Meteorology and a Master of Engineering focused on Hydrotechnical Engineering.
Mr. Hospital has over 16 years of experience conducting three-dimensional ocean modelling, coastal engineering as well as contaminant and oil spill modelling in support of permitting processes and human health risk assessments. He has led the spill modelling component for the recent major oil and fuel terminal development projects on both west and east coasts of Canada. He is the co-developer of Tetra Tech Canada’s oil spill trajectory and weathering model SPILLCALC.
Mr. Hospital specializes in spill assessment in areas where complex oceanography processes are at play, such as estuarine areas, large intertidal areas and large stratified rivers. He has also been retained as technical expert by various governmental organizations in Canada and the South Pacific (New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia).
