Professor Orbell completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 1979. From 1980 to 1981 he was awarded a Johns Hopkins University Research Fellowship to undertake postdoctoral studies. He is currently Professor of Chemistry within the College of Sport, Health & Engineering and the Institute for Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities (ISILC) at Victoria University. John has been a Member of the American Chemical Society for 34 years.
