Biography
LTJG Kyle Vincent graduated with Honors from Eckerd College in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science with a focus in Biology and minored in Coastal Management. While in his sophomore year, he was awarded the NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship. As a Hollings scholar he was given the opportunity to intern at NOAA’s Northwest Fisheries Science Center where he researched pseudo-nitzschia harmful algal blooms under the supervision of Dr. Vera Trainer. LTJG Vincent played on the Eckerd College Men’s Rugby team, and in his senior year was named as a captain. LTJG Vincent graduated from BOTC 134, and was assigned to NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow where he acted as the ship’s Environmental Compliance Officer, Safety Officer, and Navigation Officer, all while earning his Officer of the Deck certification.
LTJG Vincent completed his sea tour in December of 2022 and moved onto his land assignment in Seattle, WA where he took the role of the NW Regional Response Officer with NOAA’s Office of Response & Restoration in the Emergency Response Division. As the NW Regional Response Officer, LTJG Vincent supports the NOAA Scientific Support Coordinates on the West Coast, Hawaii and Alaska, and most notable worked with USCG Sector Puget Sound on the Aleutian Isle Incident, which spanned 42 days and was the first Type Two Incident for the Coast Guard Sector in 15 years. LTJG Vincent also served as acting NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator in Alaska for 8 months in 2023.
