I have a mechanical engineering background learned from both the British Army and then as a vehicle mechanic. Introduced in oil spills in 1996, when I was asked if I would like a couple of weeks work helping to clean up after a large oil spill in the UK. I joined OSRL in October 1996 as a contracted fitter before becoming a responder in 2000. I have worked out of the response department since then, whilst also undertaking various secondments for members in a preparedness role. I have attended incidents in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Caribbean. I have work out of OSRL's Ft Lauderdale office since 2014, where I am the Response Manager.
