Kate Wheelock is Chief of the Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) in NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R). The DPP ensures that the National Ocean Service, partners, and coastal communities are able to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from all hazards, including coastal disasters. She has worked in various aspects of disaster and pollution preparedness, response and restoration over her 22 years with OR&R.
