Biography
Roy Barrett, President and Senior Consultant for TRG, has over 30 years’ experience in emergency response consulting and professional training.
As a graduate of the University of Houston with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science, as well as Industrial Hygiene & Safety, Roy uses his environmental expertise to develop worldwide emergency management programs designed to fully equip emergency management teams with the tools and expertise necessary to reduce the impacts of any type of incident.
He has held key ICS positions during numerous major incidents/events involving oil, gas and hazardous chemical spills (and natural disasters) worldwide. As a certified Type I Incident Commander, Operations Section Chief and Planning Section Chief, and a certified USCG and FEMA ICS trainer, Roy has served in a number of ICS positions on exercises and incidents worldwide. Roy’s expertise is in response management principles, field response equipment deployment, spill response clean-up strategies & techniques as well as spill trajectory modeling.
He has developed and facilitated comprehensive emergency response and preparedness programs. Roy specializes in the Integration of spill response and protection strategies with GIS mapping tools such as ArcGIS and trajectory modeling as well as training on all phases of Incident Command System processes and development of the Incident Action Plan Software.
Roy is recognized in the Oil & Gas Emergency Response industry as an innovative leader committed to improving clients’ ability to respond to all hazard incidents through emergency response pre-planning, training, exercising and response support.
