Dr. Ruth Yender currently serves as the Scientific Support Coordinator for the Pacific Islands within NOAA's Emergency Response Division, Office of Response and Restoration. Dr. Yender is a spill response veteran, providing advice and support to Federal On Scene Coordinators during major oil spills and hazardous materials releases including the response to the Exxon Valdez and Deepwater Horizon oil spills. She has co-authored several guides on planning and response considerations for oil spills.
